Descripción : Coffee is of great importance to the Ecuadorian economy because it brings in foreign exchange to the state, generates income for families that grow coffee, and is produced primarily in agroforestry systems. The main disease of coffee is rust, its causal agent is the biotrophic fungus Hemileia vastatrix, which attacks mainly the leaves, causing yield losses of over 50%, also reducing the photosynthetic capacity, and weakening the plants. Therefore, it arises the objective of this research which consists on evaluating the biological control of coffee rust (H. vastatrix) through Trichoderma spp. isolates from Coffee Agroforestry Systems. Based on the results obtained from the rhizospheric soil of Chaguarpamba canton, the isolates incubated at 28 °C in Petri dishes presented a fast expansion at 48 hours with a radial growth rate (TCR) 1.88 mm, with its cottony mycelium and its whitish yellow color both in front and back, at 96 hours the mycelium managed to cover the surface of the culture medium dextrose potato agar with a TCR 0. 9 mm, in the obverse it presented an olive green color of granular texture while in the reverse a yellow-white coloration this is due to the production of crystals of yellowish color, in the count of spores does not exist a significant difference, being its value smaller 4. 45 x 107 and its higher value of 5.22 x 107 spores / mL, as for the measurement, of spores present in length 6 and 6.5 mm and width 5.75 and 6.5 mm in the measurement of Trichoderma no significant differences are found. In the biocontrol at 144 hours after application Trichoderma had a positive effect with 93% effectiveness against rust (H. vastatrix.). The best treatment of the germinative power is (T1= water) with a percentage of 92%, while the treatment (T3= Trichoderma) its germinative power was 68% being this very low in comparison with the other treatments. In the root growth (CR) and according to the results of statistical analysis, the best treatment was water, which on January 27th had an average temperature of 22.3°C with a CR 0.66 mm, naphthaleneacetic acid (ANA) a CR 0.24 mm, and Trichoderma a CR 0. 00 mm, at the end of the valuation on February 21st and with an average temperature of 22.5°C the water treatment had a CR 24.9 mm, ANA a CR 22.1 mm, and Trichoderma a CR 13.5 mm with a lower germination power compared to water and naphthaleneacetic acid.
