| Resumen : | El presente trabajo es un informe sobre estudios y trabajo de campo realizados en la parroquia Selva Alegre, cantón Saraguro, provincia de Loja; investigación que permitió elaborar un Plan de Desarrollo Local, el cual pretende dar solución al problema que es el bajo desarrollo socioeconómico de la parroquia Selva Alegre, se debe a que no cuenta con un plan de desarrollo técnicamente elaborado que permite el adecuado aprovechamiento de las potencialidades que tiene la parroquia. Como objetivo general se propuso “Elaborar un Plan de Desarrollo Local en la parroquia Selva Alegre, cantón Saraguro, provincia de Loja, para el periodo 2014 - 2018, con la finalidad de mejorar las condiciones de vida de la población”. La investigación fue de tipo explorativa, descriptiva, explicativa, observacional, bibliográfica y de campo; y se empleó métodos científicos como: inductivo, deductivo, sintético, estadístico y analítico. Por otra parte, se utilizó como técnicas la encuesta y la entrevista. Se consideró una muestra de 218 familias (jefes de hogar) frente a la población universo de 505 familias de la parroquia Selva Alegre. Para lo cual se realizó un estudio socioeconómico de la parroquia, considerando aspectos como: población, vivienda, salud, educación, servicios básicos, organización social y económica productiva. Este estudio hizo posible conocer la situación actual de la parroquia; y determinar las fortalezas, oportunidades, debilidades y amenazas de la misma, con lo cual se determinó que en la parroquia Selva Alegre en la actualidad la agricultura, ganadería, silvicultura y pesca (51%) es una de las principales actividades realizadas por sus habitantes, lo cual se debe principalmente a las características físicas del territorio parroquial, la tradición existente hacia esta rama de actividad, y el bajo nivel de instrucción de los jefes de hogar, por lo cual, se plantea un Plan de Desarrollo como una herramienta de gestión que busca promover el desarrollo socioeconómico de la parroquia y mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. | Descripción : | This paper intents to inform about the study and land's work carried out on Selva Alegre's parish, Saraguro canton, in the province of Loja; This investigation allowed us to make a Plan For The Local Development, which aims to solve the problem is the low socio-economic development of the Selva Alegre parish, is because it does not have a development plan technically elaborate allowing proper utilization of the potentials which has the parish. The main idea for this project was to elaborate "a Plan For The Local Development, which will be taking place, from 2014 to 2018, in Selva Alegre's parish, Saraguro canton, in the province of Loja, and whose purpose is to improve the local people's lives". The kind of investigation that we carried out was explorative, descriptive, explicative, observational, bibliographic and implying land's work. We also used scientific methods such as: induction, deduction, synthetic, statistic and analytical. Furthermore, we made use of interviews and polls to get all the information needed. One sample of 218 families (householders) out of the whole (505 families, respectively) was considered. All of them members of the Selva Alegre's parish. To know which families suited better for the experiment, we carried out a study of the socioeconomic situation of the church, in which we considered aspects like: population, households, health, education, basic services, social organisation and productive economy. This study allowed us to know the general situation of the parish and identify its strong points, weakness, opportunities... All of these parameters showed that agriculture, fishing (51%), silviculture and cattle raising were the main activities among the population considered. These results respond to the physical conditions of the territory and also to the lack of farther knowledge of the householders who might have never known any other way of getting profit. In the end, the Plan For The Local Development comes as a tool to promote the socioeconomic development of the parish and make the condition of people's lives better.
