Resumen : The present research work entitled:METHODS APPLIED IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING TEACHING PROCESS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RECEPTIVE SKILLS WITH THE STUDENTS OF SECOND AND THIRD YEARS OF BACHILLERATO. BASIC SCIENCE.AFTERNOON SECTION, AT PIO JARAMILLO ALVARADO” HIGH SCHOOL. ACADEMIC YEAR 2010-2011.,has been developed in order to know the methodology that the teachers apply to develop the reading and listening skills inside the English Language Teaching learning process. In the development of the present work we have used the scientific method as the main one, which has helped us to carry out a systematic process with the research object. And we have also used as particular methods the explicative, descriptive, analytical synthetic and deductive methods. To develop the field work we applied the instrument of the survey to the teachers as well to the students, to process the information we have used the descriptive statistics which had helped us to represent the information in a descriptive way. Among the main results of the research we have found that there is little application of methodological strategies which does not help students to improve the listening skill, neither teachers apply techniques to support the development of the reading skill with students of 2ndand 3rd years of High School curriculum at Pío Jaramillo Alvarado High School. Therefore in the researched institution we have been able to find out that there is not enough practice to improve the receptive skills so that the learning of the English Language by part of the students is regular and limited with the researched students.
