Descripción : The present investigation developed in the Casanga Valley, Paltas canton, province of Loja (January 2018 to November 2018), had as objectives; 1) Identify the technological activities related to the cultivation of peanuts in the productive systems existing in the area, 2) Determine the incidence of technological activities in the formation of the price, at the level of the producer, 3) Establish the margin of profitability knowing the marketing price in the sector. The methodology used included the collection of secondary information in libraries and in public and private institutions, through surveys and population census of peanut producers. The variables studied were the technological activities of peanut cultivation, production systems, price formation and profit margin. As results of the investigation, two production systems existing in the area were identified. The semi-technified system and the subsistence or traditional system were identified. In the semi-technified system, soil preparation is mechanized, manual sowing, weed control prior to chemical planting, manual weeding, pest and disease control in a chemical way, with manually operated backpack pump, manual fertilization, manual harvest, natural drying, shelling with mechanical sheller. In the subsistence system, all agricultural activities are manual, control pests and diseases with agricultural pesticides and manually operated backpack pump, and shelling manually, their small production areas are intended for family consumption. The item that mainly affect the formation of the price, is labor, followed by leasing, use of certified seeds and handicrafts, chemical fertilizers, insecticides and fungicides, rental of machinery and equipment, and the depreciation of the tools used. The highest margin of profitability obtained was that of the semi-technified system with 30%, and 26% of the subsistence system, where it is indicated that there has been greater technification of agricultural activities, the profitability of the crop is increased
