dc.descriptionIn the framework of the electoral debate, the main purpose of this research project is to analyze the: Discursive strategies used by the candidates for the Mayor of Loja to persuade their voters during the broadcast of the electoral debate called “Loja debate” organized by the National Council Electoral (CNE) 2023. This study was based on a qualitative approach, since it was immersed in the social context to understand how individuals expressed, perceived and related to their environment, and it was also non-experimental, because the context in which the study phenomenon (debate) developed. Likewise, an attempt was made to conceptualize and examine the discursive strategies and rhetorical techniques of political communication in addition to evaluating and contrasting the coherence and consistency of the messages transmitted by the candidates in the "Loja debate" program with respect to their previously published campaign proposals. The target population was the candidates for the Mayor of Loja, who participated in the electoral debate called “Loja debate”. Likewise, an interview was applied to experts in social communication in order to know the criteria and analysis on the development of this debate. In this context, the results revealed a coherent and consistent structure in the presentation of the candidates' proposals in four thematic axes, which were characterized by their marked differences in the way they perceive the world, their purposes with the canton and the image they wanted to build for people of Loja, it was therefore evident that the participants used varied discursive strategies to address key topics through proposals with different approaches, adapting their speech to attract different segments of voters. Finally, it was also determined that some of the debaters showed a lack in the use of concrete data and solid rhetorical resources. However, in general it was established that the majority of applicants achieve to articulate their proposals in the debate, establishing a connection with the voters.es_ES
