| Resumen : | El auto-concepto y la autoestima son el resultado de un largo proceso, marcado por un gran número de experiencias personales y sociales. La autoestima baja en una persona con discapacidad intelectual moderada, determinan que estos sean víctima de maltrato, siente que no puede hacer nada, se aíslan, la apatía, el resentimiento y el egoísmo, se convierten en el modo de vida habitual, es por eso que surge la necesidad de investigar el FOMENTO DE LA AUTOESTIMA BASADO EN TEATRO TERAPIA EN PERSONAS CON DISCAPACIDAD INTELECTUAL MODERADA DEL CENTRO DIURNO DE DESARROLLO INTEGRAL PARA PERSONAS CON DISCAPACIDAD, LOJA, FEBRERO-JULIO 2016. La investigación se direccionó en acción-participación, el tipo de estudio fue descriptivo-explicativo, tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo-cualitativo. Se utilizaron los métodos: científico, analítico-sintético, inductivo, hermenéutico y dialéctico. Se aplicó la Escala de Valoración de la Autoestima propuesta por Maiz y Güereca y un registro diario. La población estuvo constituida por 35 personas con Discapacidad, tomando una muestra de 20, con quienes se trabajó en actividades de teatro terapia de manera grupal. Para la validación de la propuesta se empleó un post-test. Los resultados obtenidos inicialmente mostraron el 75% de autoestima baja y un 25% de autoestima media y posterior a la intervención se obtuvo un 30% de autoestima alta y un 70% de autoestima media concluyendo que el teatro terapia es una herramienta eficaz para el fomento de la autoestima en las personas con discapacidad intelectual moderada, por lo cual se recomienda su aplicación en el centro para continuar fortaleciendo la autoestima |
| Descripción : | Self-concept and self-esteem are the result of a long process, marked by a large number of personal and social experiences. Low self-esteem translates to many problems throughout life. An individual with low self-esteem usually feels both unhappy and more limited in what they can or even should do, more so when said person has a disability of some sort, typically characterizing his or herself as unable to achieve anything, or indeed even to try, seeing everything as an obstacle in their way, and casting themselves as the mistreated victim. These feelings lead to isolation and solitude, and in turn apathy, resentment and egoism. As part of the resulting lifestyle, higher self-esteem and the desire to improve cease to be necessary and the disability begins to form a defining role in the individual´s life. With these facts in mind, it became necessary to investigate the promotion of theatre-based self-esteem therapy for individuals with moderate intellectual disabilities in the Loja Development Center for Disabled Persons in the months of February to July, 2016. The actionparticipation based study sought to both describe and explain results using both quantitative and qualitative data. This data was acquired utilizing an analytical, inductive, hermeneutic and dialogue based methodology. Data collecting tools used include the Self-Esteem Assessment Scale used by government organization Maiz y Güereca, as well as a daily registration sheet. The population in this study consisted of 35 individuals with disabilities, of which 20 were chosen as a sample. This was done at the suggestion of the facilitator in charge of running the theater-based therapy activities, all of which were performed in group sessions. In order to validate the proposal of this study, a post test in the Self-Esteem Assessment Scale was administered, concluding that the theater activities used allowed for a strengthening of self-esteem in individuals with moderate intellectual disabilities. |
