| dc.description | This research was conducted in the students of the Unidad educativa José María Velaz Loja in the period 2015-2016 , the same that had as objective : Determine the type of family functionality of the homes of the students of the Unidad educativa José María Velaz through the test of perception of family functioning ( FF -SIL ) : To identify the level of self-esteem of students of the Unidad educativa José María Velaz through the scale of COOPERSMITH and establish the relationship between family functioning and self-esteem of the students. The type of study was quantitative because it will allow us to assess the attitudes and behavior of students and descriptive in order to know the relationship between self-esteem and family functioning in 105 students: self-esteem and family functioning was determined by tests Coopersmith and FF- SIL respectively. The tabulation and analysis of data, found that of the 105 students surveyed, 53 % present a family moderately functional and only 2 % of the study population has a severely dysfunctional family. With regard to self-esteem the 56% presents medium-high self-esteem, and only 1 % of the population in study presents low self-esteem. At the same time in the relationship of self-esteem and family functionality of the group that belongs to functional families the 17%, have medium high self-esteem, and 2% has a low self-esteem; the group that belongs to moderately functional families 25% presented medium high esteem and has high self-esteem 9%; in the group corresponding to dysfunctional families 10,4% medium high self-esteem, and self-worth 0.95 % have medium low; finally in the group corresponding to severely dysfunctional families presents 0.95% medium high self-esteem and self-worth 0.95 % have medium low. | dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación se realizó en las estudiantes de la Unidad Educativa José María Velaz extensión Loja en el período enero - julio de 2016, el mismo que tuvo como objetivos: determinar el tipo de funcionalidad familiar de los hogares de las estudiantes de la Unidad Educativa José María Velaz, a través del test de percepción del funcionamiento familiar (FF-SIL): identificar el nivel de autoestima de las estudiantes de la Unidad Educativa José María Velaz, a través de la escala de COOPERSMITH y establecer la relación entre funcionalidad familiar y la autoestima de las estudiantes. El tipo de estudio fue cualicuantitativo porque nos permitió evaluar las actitudes y comportamiento de las estudiantes y descriptivo con el propósito de conocer la relación que existe entre autoestima y la funcionalidad familiar en las 105 estudiantes: se determinó autoestima y funcionalidad familiar mediante los test de Coopersmith y FF-SIL respectivamente. Se realizó la tabulación y el análisis de datos, encontrándose que de las 105 estudiantes encuestadas el 53% presenta una familia moderadamente funcional y tan solo el 2% de la población en estudio presenta una familia severamente disfuncional. En lo referente a autoestima el 56% presenta autoestima medio alto, y tan solo el 1% de la población en estudio presenta autoestima bajo. Así mismo en la relación de autoestima y funcionalidad familiar del grupo que pertenece a familias funcionales el 17% presenta autoestima medio alto, y el 2% presenta un autoestima bajo; del grupo que pertenece a familias moderadamente funcionales el 25% presenta autoestima medio alto y el 9% presenta autoestima alto; en el grupo de familias disfuncionales el 10,4% presenta un autoestima medio alto, el 0,95% presenta autoestima medio bajo; finalmente en el grupo que corresponde a familias severamente disfuncionales el 0,95% presenta autoestima medio alto y el 0,95% presenta autoestima medio bajo.
