dc.description	The research called "ALCOHOL AND ADOLESCENT MESTIZOS PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCE AND INDIGENOUS ZAPOTILLO CANTON, PROVINCE OF LOJA; It was characterized in a descriptive-transversal model, It is where the following objectives were proposed: to characterize the profile of adolescents consuming alcohol and psychoactive substances, according to gender, age and nationality; to analyze the age of onset of consumption; to determine the scale of consumption of different substances, according to age, gender and nationality and examine risk factors and protective of adolescents. Based on the results obtained after the Semi-Structured Survey about alcohol Consumption and Psychoactive Substances, it was obtained that the adolescents evaluated correspond to 459 students; alcohol consumption in the male sex constitutes 23.75%; And in the female sex to 15.53%; The average age is at age 14 mainly in substances such as alcohol, marijuana, inhalants, cocaine and LSD, in the male and female; The average age is at 14 years old. The age of onset prevails at age 14 in the male gender and in the female gender; Lack of participation in preventive activities 75.60%; As predominant protective factors are excellent relationships with their families 61.44%. dc.description.abstract	La investigación denominada “CONSUMO DE ALCOHOL Y SUSTANCIAS PSICOACTIVAS EN ADOLESCENTES MESTIZOS E INDÍGENAS DEL CANTÓN ZAPOTILLO, PROVINCIA DE LOJA; se caracterizó en un modelo descriptivo-transversal, en donde se planteó los siguientes objetivos: Caracterizar el perfil de los adolescentes consumidores de alcohol y sustancias psicoactivas, según el sexo, edad y nacionalidad.; analizar la edad de inicio del consumo; determinar la escala de consumo según las distintas sustancias, de acuerdo a la edad, género y nacionalidad y examinar los factores de riesgo y protectores de los adolescentes. En base a los resultados obtenidos una vez aplicada la Encuesta Semiestructurada sobre Consumo de Alcohol y Sustancias Psicoactivas se obtuvo que los adolescentes evaluados corresponde a 459 estudiantes, el consumo de alcohol en el sexo masculino constituye el 23,75%; y en el sexo femenino al 15,53%; la edad promedio es a los 14 años principalmente en sustancias tales como alcohol, marihuana, inhalantes, cocaína y LSD, en el sexo masculino y femenino; la edad promedio es a los 14 años de edad. La edad de inicio prevalece de los 14 años al en el género masculino y en el género femenino; falta de participación en actividades preventivas 75,60%; como factores protectores predominantes se encuentran excelentes relaciones con los familiares 61,44%.
