| Resumen : | El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en el Hospital Civil San Vicente de Paúl de Pasaje, se revisaron 123 Historias Clínicas de niños menores de 2 años, hospitalizados con diagnóstico de neumonía y con antecedente de Prematuridad, bajo peso o ambos en el periodo determinado, el propósito de esta investigación consiste en determinar la relación entre Prematuridad y Bajo peso al nacer asociados a Neumonía; para ello se clasificó la variable de Neumonía en relación con Prematuridad, Bajo peso y la correlación de ambas. Este trabajo se justificó por la importancia de morbi-mortalidad en estos pacientes por esta patología, los resultados serán de gran utilidad en la comunidad de salud y población en general, permite conocer la importancia de la Prematuridad y/o Bajo peso como factor para desarrollar Neumonía. La investigación aborda el tipo Analítico, Descriptivo y Retrospectivo. Se empleó la observación directa estructurada, se utilizó las Historias Clínicas con diagnóstico de Neumonías de niños menores de 2 años y con los antecedentes antes mencionados. Los datos determinaron que la relación Neumonía Prematuridad corresponden al 51%; la relación Neumonía Bajo peso al nacer corresponden al 27%: y Neumonía, Prematuridad - Bajo peso al nacer el 22%; las edades con mayor porcentaje son de 14 y 18 meses para prematuros con el 43% al igual en el bajo peso con 38%;y por último están los de 4 y 8 meses con el 9% en prematuros y 6% en niños con bajo peso al nacer; la población estudiada se considera de alto riesgo epidemiológico por sus antecedentes posnatales, edad, y antecedentes patológicos. | Descripción : | The present research work was done at “San Vicente de Paul de Pasaje” hospital, 123 medical records of children under 2 years old, who were in hospital with either pneumonia, pre maturity background or low birthweight diagnostic were checked in the determined period, the purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the pre maturity and low birthweight of the babies who are sick with a pneumonia diagnostic. To do this work, the pneumonia variable was classified in relation to the prematurity, low birthweight and the correlation between them. This work was justified by the importance of the morbi-mortality of these patients due to this pathology; the outcomes will be very useful in both the health community and population in general, it let us to understand the importance of the prematurity and or low birthweight as factors that cause pneumonia. The research is descriptive, analytic and retrospective study. A direct and structured observation was used, the health record of children under two years old with pneumonia diagnostic who had the mentioned background were analyzed. The data determined that the relation between prematurity – pneumonia is placed in 51%; the relation pneumonia – low birthweight is in 27%; and pneumonia- prematurity- low birthweight is in 22%; the ages with higher percentage are between 14 and 18 months for premature babies with 43%, the same was with the low birthweight babies with 38%; and, finally babies between 4 and 8 months with the 9% in premature ones and 6% in babies with low birthweight; the studied population is considered with a high epidemiologic risk due to their birth, age and pathological background.
