| dc.description | The present research had as objective to evaluate the knowledge about the use of contraceptive methods and sexual transmitted diseases (STD) in students of the last year of high school in Private Schools in the city of Loja, on the scholar year 2015 - 2016, with the aim to analize the knowledge of the level of contraceptive methods, to inquire the level of knowledge about STD, to know if the students have used any contraceptive method or have suffered a STD, and to elaborate a instructive guideline about both topics. It is about a cross sectional descriptive research, involving 435 students and the research formed by 208 students, to measure out the level of knowledge, a survey was conducted previously to the students on the research. The results show that 73% of the students know at least 5 contraceptive methods and 11% just know about 1 contraceptive method; beeing the male condom the most used (41%) and the less known are spermycides (0,5%). According with the sexual transmitted diseases, 96% of the students has knowledge of them and the remaining 4% do not know, the most know sexual transmitted disease is HIV, know by all the students, furthermore it can be mentioned that the most part of the respondents referred not have presented any sexual transmitted disease except by one case from a student who have mentioned who had had genital herpes; at the end of the research 208 triptychs were proportionated with clear and consistent information about both topics. | dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar los conocimientos sobre el uso de métodos anticonceptivos y enfermedades de transmisión sexual en los estudiantes de tercer año de bachillerato de los Colegios Particulares de la ciudad de Loja en el periodo académico 2015 – 2016, con la finalidad de analizar el nivel de conocimientos sobre el uso de métodos anticonceptivos, indagar el nivel de conocimientos sobre ETS, conocer si han utilizado algún método anticonceptivo o han adquirido ETS y elaborar una guía educativa sobre ambos temas. Trata de un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo de corte transversal, con un total de 435 estudiantes y una muestra constituida por 208 estudiantes, con la finalidad de medir el nivel de conocimientos se aplicó una encuesta previamente elaborada a los adolescentes en estudio. Los resultados evidencian que de la totalidad de los encuestados un gran porcentaje 73% conocen al menos 5 métodos anticonceptivos y un 11% conoce tan solo uno; el condón masculino el más usado (41%) y en menor proporción los espermicidas (0,5%). Respecto a las enfermedades de transmisión sexual el 96% de los estudiantes tienen conocimiento y el 4% no tienen información, la patología de transmisión sexual conocida por todos los estudiantes es el VIH, además se puede destacar que la mayor parte de los encuestados no refieren haber presentado enfermedades de transmisión sexual, excepto un alumno que menciono haber tenido herpes genital; al culminar la investigación se entregó un total de 208 trípticos proporcionando información clara y consistente acerca de ambos temas.
