| Resumen : | La Proteína C Reactiva (PCR), Factor Reumatoide (FR) y la Antiestreptolisina O (ASTO) son pruebas serológicas que contribuyen al diagnóstico de enfermedades reumáticas, la Proteína C Reactiva suele verse alterada en presencia de inflamación por lo que sería una prueba sensible y de utilidad, al igual que el factor reumatoide (1). Cuando el valor de Antiestreptolisina O resulta positivo sugiere la existencia de faringitis estreptocócica previa causada por la bacteria Estreptococo pyogenes, infección que se confirma con cultivo de secreción faríngea (2); si la infección por esta bacteria no es tratada puede dar origen a la fiebre reumática (3). En el presente estudio se realizó la identificación de Estreptococo pyogenes en secreciones faríngeas mediante cultivo, así mismo la determinación de Proteína C Reactiva (PCR), Factor Reumatoide (FR) y Antiestreptolisina O (ASTO) a pacientes con cultivo faríngeo positivo para Estreptococo pyogenes, se relacionó el cultivo faríngeo y las pruebas serológicas. Una vez obtenidos los resultados la información fue difundida en el barrio Obrapía al personal del Subcentro de Salud y a los pacientes adultos mayores que participaron en el estudio. La investigación fue de tipo descriptivo de corte transversal en donde se procedió a la toma de muestra de secreción faríngea a 66 Adultos mayores para realizar el cultivo faríngeo; dando como resultado 10 cultivos faríngeos positivos, a estos pacientes se les realizó las pruebas serológicas de Antiestreptolisina O, Proteína C Reactiva y Factor Reumatoide para conocer la relación que estas tienen con el cultivo. De los 10 (15%) pacientes que tuvieron cultivo faríngeo positivo, el 50% presentaron Antiestreptolisina O positiva, el 20% presentaron Factor Reumatoide positivo y el 30% Proteína C Reactiva positiva. | Descripción : | The C Reactive Protein (CRP), Rheumatoid Factor (RF) and Antistreptolysin O (ASOT) are serological tests that contribute to the diagnosis of rheumatic diseases, the C Reactive Protein is sometimes altered in the presence of inflammation so it would be a sensitive and useful test, like rheumatoid factor (1). When Antistreptolysin O value is positive suggests the existence of prior streptococcal pharyngitis caused by the bacterium Streptococcus pyogenes infection is confirmed by culturing pharyngeal secretion (2); if this infection is not treated could initiate a rheumatic fever (3). In the present study the identification of Streptococcus pyogenes was performed in pharyngeal secretions by culture, likewise the determination of C Reactive Protein (CRP), Rheumatoid Factor (RF) and Antistreptolysin O (ASOT) to patients with positive throat culture for Streptococcus pyogenes, there were related the throat culture and the serological tests. Once the results were obtained, the information was disseminated in Obrapía neighborhood to the staff of the Health Sub Center and elderly patients enrolled in the study. The research was descriptive cross-sectional where the researchers proceeded to the sampling pharyngeal secretion to 66 Seniors for throat culture; it resulting in 10 positive throat cultures, these patients underwent Antistreptolysin O serological tests, C-Reactive Protein and Rheumatoid Factor to determine the relationship that these ones have with the crop. Of the 10 (15%) patients that showed positive throat culture, 50% presented Antistreptolysin O positive, 20% were rheumatoid factor positive and 30% positive Reactive Protein C.
