Resumen : The present research work titled: METHODOLOGICAL STRATEGIES OF TEACHING-LEARNING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS IN ENGLISH AS FOREIGN LANGUAGE WITH CHILDREN OF 6th YEAR OF BASIC EDUCATION AT “VICTOR EMILIO VALDIVIESO” NEIGHBORHOOD, SCHOOL PERIOD 2010-2011. had as purpose to develop the communicative skills through strategies, techniques and methods. The methods applied through this research work were; Total Physical Response, Audio-Lingual method, Communicative Language Teaching, and the direct method. The techniques used were; games, songs, dialogues, mimics, guessing, note taking, repetition, asking question, visual Aids. Among the instruments applied were diagnostic test, annual plan, unit plan, and lesson plan. Through all of them it was possible to development of the communicative skills. To the collection of the information within the research process, a diagnostic test was used as the main instrument, the same than was applied to the students in order to determine the necessities and difficulties in the English subject like second language. The principal results that were found during the community program intervention were: The methodological strategies helped to develop communicative skills in children during the teaching-learning process, which is evident in the children since they began to use the foreign language in a satisfactory way.
