| Resumen : | El presente es un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en el que se utilizó métodos y técnicas cuantitativas cuyos objetivos son: identificar que conocimientos sobre ITS/VIHS SIDA, tienen los estudiantes del Colegio Pio Jaramillo Alvarado en la sección Vespertina; identificar que prácticas preventivas de ITS/ VIH SIDA, observan las estudiantes de la institución educativa en estudio; conocer la participación de la institución educativa concerniente a promover la salud sexual de sus estudiantes; y elaborar una propuesta de intervención que incluyan acciones de prevención y orienten a los jóvenes al autocuidado de su salud sexual. Los datos cuantitativos fueron tomados del estudio de campo realizado a las estudiantes de la mencionada institución educativa. El universo estuvo constituido por 346 estudiantes. Las técnicas e instrumentos fueron una encuesta en la que se incluyeron preguntas relacionadas con conocimientos y formas de prevención de ITS-VIH/SIDA. Los datos fueron procesados en base a la Estadística Básica y han sido presentados en tablas de frecuencia relativa y distribución porcentual, en las cuales encontramos que 69.36% de estudiantes no tienen conocimiento sobre el tema antes mencionado, y 65.31% cree que las ITS-VIH/SIDA se transmiten únicamente durante las relaciones sexuales; cabe recalcar que de los datos obtenidos un 54.91% de estudiantes no diferencian de VIH y SIDA por que probablemente desconoce de estas dos situaciones; y 68.20% de estudiantes manifiesta no conocer una forma exacta de protegerse por qué no han iniciado su vida sexual mientras que 31,79%, menciona que se protegen con preservativo. Como investigadora recomiendo implementar el Programa de Salud Sexual en los horarios de orientación Vocacional para contribuir a mejorar los conocimientos sobre ITS-VIH-SIDA en las jóvenes, así como reforzar la estrategia de educación en estos grupos de alto riesgo. |
| Descripción : | This is a descriptive study which used technical and quantitative methods which objectives are: To identify the level of knowledge that students at Pio Jaramillo Alvarado High school from the evening section, have about STD/ HIV- AIDS; to identify which preventive methods regarding STD/ HIV, the students of this educational institution observe; to identify the involvement level of the educational institution regarding to promote the sexual health of their students and to elaborate an intervention proposal that includes actions of prevention and guide the teenagers to the self care of their sexual health. The quantitative data was taken from the field study, carried out to the students of the previously mentioned educational institution. The population was constituted by 346 students. The techniques and instruments used were: a survey in which questions related with knowledge and ways of preventing STD-HIV/ AIDS were included. The data was processed relying on the Basic Statistic and they have been presented in relative frequency charts and percentage distribution, in which we found that 69,36% of students doesn´t have knowledge on the topic mentioned before, and 65,31% believes that STD-HIV/ AIDS are only transmitted during sexual intercourse; It is worth to emphasize that of the obtained data 54,91% of students doesn´t differentiate HIV and AIDS which is probably why they ignore both situations; and 68,20% of students claim that they do not to know an exact from to be protected because they have not started their sexual life , meanwhile 31.79% mentions that they use condoms for protection. As investigator I recommend to implement a Sexual Health Program during Counseling Sessions to contribute and improve the knowledge on STD/ HIV – AIDS in the teenagers as well as to reinforce the education strategy in these high risk groups |
