Título : Autoexamen de mama y prevención del cáncer en mujeres en edad fértil que acuden al Centro de Salud del cantón Olmedo. Julio diciembre 2018

Resumen : El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo caracterizar la población participante de acuerdo a los conocimientos sobre el autoexamen de mama en aspectos generales, tales como edad, estado civil, nivel de instrucción y paridad; además de establecer la relación con la práctica en Mujeres en Edad Fértil (MEF). El cáncer de mama es un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial, aqueja a países desarrollados y en vías de desarrollo, convirtiéndose en la primera causa de muerte por cáncer en las mujeres. La investigación corresponde a un estudio de tipo descriptivo, transversal. Para obtener la información se aplicó una encuesta, para la sistematización, tabulación y análisis se utilizó matrices en base al programa informático SPSS, para determinar el grado de conocimiento se categorizo las respuestas SI 1 punto, NO 2, DESCONOCE 3 y se determinó los niveles Alto 22 puntos, Medio 23-33 y Bajo 34-66; para establecer la frecuencia con que se realiza la práctica se estableció los siguientes parámetros una vez al mes, una vez al año y nunca. Los resultados obtenidos indican que en cuantos a los conocimientos sobresalen los siguientes grupos; según la edad, el nivel alto con 15.2% quienes tienen de 20-34 años; por el nivel de instrucción, el nivel medio con 22.4% las encuestadas que poseen bachillerato; en cuanto al estado civil, el nivel medio con 21% las usuarias solteras; sobre la paridad, el nivel medio con 19.2% de las nulíparas. Refiriéndonos a la práctica del autoexamen de mama destacan los siguientes; por la edad, el grupo etario de 20-35 años con un 22% al realizarlo una vez al año; con respecto al nivel de instrucción, aquellas que tienen bachillerato en un 23% ejecutándolo una vez al año; de acuerdo al estado civil, las solteras con el 24% al efectuarlo una vez al año; respecto a la paridad, las nulíparas con 19% al ejecutarlo una vez al año. Por lo cual se recomendó que el personal que labora dentro de la casa de salud implemente programas para promocionar información relacionada con la temática. Descripción : Summary The objective of this research work is to characterize the participating population according to the knowledge about breast self-examination in general aspects, such as age, marital status, level of education and parity; besides establishing the relation with the practice in Women in Fertile Age (MEF). Breast cancer is a public health problem worldwide, afflicting developed and developing countries, becoming the leading cause of cancer death in women. The research corresponds to a descriptive, transversal study. To obtain the information a survey was applied, for the systematization, tabulation and analysis matrices were used based on the SPSS computer program, to determine the degree of knowledge the answers were categorized SI 1 point, NO 2, UNKNOWN 3 and the levels were determined High 22 points, Medium 23-33 and Low 34-66; To establish the frequency with which the practice is performed, the following parameters were established once a month, once a year and never. The results obtained indicate that as far as knowledge is concerned, the following groups stand out; according to age, the high level with 15.2% who are 20-34 years old; by the level of instruction, the average level with 22.4% of those surveyed who have a baccalaureate; in terms of marital status, the average level with 21% of single users; on parity, the average level with 19.2% of nulliparous women. Referring to the practice of breast self-examination, the following stand out; by age, the age group of 20-35 years with 22% when doing it once a year; with respect to the level of instruction, those who have baccalaureate in 23% executing it once a year; according to marital status, single women with 24% when doing it once a year; regarding parity, nulliparous women with 19% when executing it once a year.
