| Resumen : | La Fiebre sin Foco (FSF) se define como la fiebre de menos de 72 horas de evolución donde no se descubre la fuente de la misma. Alrededor del 5-8% de niños y niñas menores de 2 años con fiebre sin una focalidad definida presentan Infección del Tracto Urinario (ITU). Esta tesis se enfocó a investigar: Fiebre sin Foco y su relación con Infección del Tracto Urinario en niños/as de 1-36 meses de edad que acudieron al Área de Pediatría del Hospital Manuel Ygnacio Monteros en el período Enero 2015-Enero 2016. Objetivo General: Establecer la relación entre Fiebre sin Foco e Infección del Tracto Urinario en niños/as de 1-36 meses de edad que acudieron al Área de Pediatría del Hospital Manuel Ygnacio Monteros en el período Enero 2015-Enero 2016. Objetivos Específicos: Determinar el número de pacientes de 1 a 36 meses de edad que presentaron fiebre sin foco; identificar el número de pacientes de 1 a 36 meses de edad con fiebre sin foco y que presentaron infección del tracto urinario; y conocer la relación existente de fiebre sin foco e infección del tracto urinario de acuerdo al sexo, edad y estado de nutrición. Fue un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, correlacional y de corte transversal cuya población fue de 190 pacientes que acudieron por presentar FSF, la muestra de 72 pacientes con diagnóstico confirmado de ITU (37.9%), el sexo femenino fue el más afectado con 66 pacientes (91.7%), más frecuente entre las edades 25-36 meses (38.9%), con un estado nutricional adecuado en los 72 pacientes (100%). La FSF fue la manifestación clínica más común en la edad pediátrica y por otra parte ITU fue la segunda patología más prevalente. Palabras Claves: FSF; ITU; edad pediátrica. |
| Descripción : | Fever of unknown origin (FUO) is defined as the fever of less than 72 hours of evolution where the source is not discovered. About 5-8% of children and children under 2 years old with fever of unknown origin showed an urinary tract infection (UTI). This research study was focused on investigate: Fever of unknown origin and its relationship with infection of the urinary tract in children 1-36 months old who came to the Pediatrics Department at Hospital “Manuel Ygnacio Monteros” in the period January 2015-January 2016. General objective: Establish the relationship between Fever of unknown origin and infection of the urinary tract in children 1-36 months old who came to the Pediatrics Department at Hospital “Manuel Ygnacio Monteros” in the period January 2015-January 2016. Specific objectives: To determine the number of patients from 1 to 36 months of age who presented Fever of unknown origin; identify the number of patients from 1 to 36 months of age with Fever of unknown origin who presented urinary tract infection; and know the relationship of Fever of unknown origin and infection of the urinary tract according to sex, age and nutritional status. it was a descriptive, retrospective, correlation study and cross-section which population was 190 patients who came due to of Fever of unknown origin; the sample of 72 patients with confirmed diagnosis of UTI (37.9%), female sex was the most affected with 66 patients (91.7%) more frequent between the ages 25-36 months (38.9%), with a nutritional status in 72 patients (100%). The FUO was the most common clinical manifestation in the pediatric age group and UTI was the most prevalent second pathology. Key words: FUO; UTI; pediatric age. |
