| Resumen : | La Enfermedad Diarreica Aguda, es una de las principales causas de morbilidad en niños menores de 5 años. En este marco se realizó el presente estudio descriptivo, planteándose como objetivo general determinar el conocimiento y las prácticas maternas sobre prevención y manejo de Enfermedad Diarreica Aguda en los niños/as que acuden a los Centros Infantiles del Buen Vivir 8 de Diciembre y Zamora Huayco MIES, de la cuidad de Loja 2014-2015; para recoger la información se utilizó la encuesta, aplicada a setenta madres de los menores atendidos; los resultados muestran que el mayor porcentaje de madres define correctamente la diarrea, así mismo un porcentaje desconoce los factores de riesgo y las medidas que disminuyen el peligro de producir la enfermedad; Existe desconocimiento sobre el manejo de la diarrea, especialmente en lo relacionado a identificar síntomas para llevar al niño/a urgente al servicio de salud u hospital, señales de deshidratación de enfermedad diarreica aguda, signos de alarma para prevenir complicaciones. Sin embargo las madres identifican correctamente la preparación de suero oral casero, preparación de las sales de rehidratación oral. Un grupo de madres aplican prácticas de prevención y manejo adecuadas, no obstante algunas madres no practican una adecuada alimentación del niño/a con leche materna exclusiva hasta los seis meses, limpieza del biberón, lavado de manos, cuidado de los alimentos durante la preparación y previo a su ingesta, presencia de animales intradomiciliarios, tipo de líquido, tiempo que transcurre para iniciar la hidratación durante el episodio diarreico, la continuación de la lactancia materna durante la diarrea. | Descripción : | The Illness Diarreica Aguda, it is one of the main causes of morbidity in children younger than 5 years. In this frame the present descriptive study was realized, considering like general target to determine the knowledge and the maternal practices on prevention and handling of Illness Diarreica Aguda in the children / experts who come to the Infantile Centers of the Good one to Live On December 8 and Zamora Huayco GRAIN, of take care of Loja 2014-2015; to gather the information there was used the survey applied to seventy mothers of the attended minors; the results show that the biggest percentage of mothers defines correctly the diarrhea, likewise a percentage does not know the factors of risk and the measurements that diminish the danger of producing the illness; Ignorance exists on the handling of the diarrhea, especially in the related to identify symptoms to take to the urgent child / girl to the health service or hospital, signs of dehydration of illness diarreica sharp, alarm signs to prepare complications. Nevertheless the mothers identify correctly the preparation of home-made oral whey, preparation of the salt of oral rehydration. A group of mothers applies suitable practices of prevention and handling, nevertheless some mothers do not practise a suitable feeding of the child / girl with exclusive maternal milk up to six months, cleanliness of the feeding-bottle, washed of hands, taken care of the food during the preparation and before to its ingestion, presence of animals intradomiciliarios, type of liquid, time that passes to initiate the hydration during the episode diarreico, the continuation of the breast feeding during the diarrhea.
